Tuam 5k results etc

13248436_1643320635888446_959175001476042820_oThe fourth race in the Galway 5k series took place this evening in Tuam. Gary Higgins (GCH) won in 16:32. He finished third last Saturday in the Ballina Half marathon. Second overall and first woman was Shauna Bocquet (Craughwell AC) in 16:49, recording her second win in the series. Well done to our lone competitor Cormac Kearney – 21:21, 21:12 chip.That’s over a minute faster chip time than his time in the first race in Ballybrit. (23:09, chip 22:19). It was good to see sprinter John Walkin take a few gentle strides last week on the road to recovery from the painful hamstring tear he suffered at the Masters Indoors in March. He hopes to gradually regain fitness over the next few months and be able to compete in the Masters Outdoors in August.
