Provisional results of the National 10k published today by Athletics Ireland show that in the women’s 35+ we won team gold – Colette Tuohy, Mary Gleeson, Chris Gallagher – a wonderful performance to be first of 29 club teams in this category and retain the title. There were also three individual medals – silver for Colette in F45, bronze for Mary Gleeson in F35 and silver for Anne Murray in F50. Congratulations to them all.
Among the other results the senior women came 12th of 18 teams, the 50+ men 4th of 6 teams. The 50+ women were also just outside podium in 4th, but they all improved finishing times on 2014.
Athletics Ireland championship medals are awarded based on start gun/ finish times, while those provided by greatirelandrun.org are chip times.
Our runners were well supported in the Phoenix Park by Seamus Gaughan, Norah Newcombe and Gerry O’Malley. The event was televised and you can still view it on RTE iPlayer.
