Sunday report

Sunday January 14:  Our all rounder Patrick Moran (M60) got in some early season practice at Athlone Arena. He’s based in Galway City and travelled over to compete in the Galway Indoors Championships.

Patrick came first in the masters over 50 high jump with a leap of 1.35 metres. Well done Patrick. He was  very happy with his form. It was part of his preparation ahead of the National Masters Indoors Championships in early March where he will compete in a number of events.

In the great outdoors there was a good turnout at Castlebar for the Sunday morning run. Thanks to Colette Tuohy who gave the group some pace guidance at the 8.30am Greenway start point. It was a grand morning – calm and dry – as they passed along the riverside path towards Ballyneggin. The Castlebar river was in full spate and the group had a small bit of steeplechase practice after Windsor bridge. Completing the run to Turlough House made it 14k – out and back.
