Sunday 5ks at Straide, Cloonacool updated

On Sunday (February 4) there were two local fundraising 5k events. Both were blessed with a lovely calm day as ‘Mister blue sky’ came out to play. At Straide there was a massive turnout for Declan’s Recovery Fund 5k with the start understandably slightly delayed.

Almost 1200 supported in Straide and raised €13k for Declan’s Fund. Well done to John Byrne and thanks to him for his update and results:

“The whole community got behind it and the organisation was as good as I’ve seen. We were overwhelmed and unprepared for the volume of people and it caused some hiccups, but despite that it was a success and we hope and pray for Declan’s improvement”.
