Seniors in track action today at NIA and TUS

Two Mayo AC seniors were in action in  track events today. Sean Hynes was our only entrant in the National Senior Indoor Championships at the National Indoor Arena.

He competed in heat 1 of 2 in the 1500m. Although last in his heat, Sean finished with an excellent 4:26.55 pb knocking three seconds off his 4:29.24 winning time in the 2022 Mayo Indoors. Congratulations Sean! The high standard required is indicated by the 3:57.91 top finisher in heat 2. Final tomorrow.

Sprinter Declan Owens ran two races in the Kilkenny Indoor Championships at Athlone TUS. He won both the 60 and 200m. Congratulations to Declan!

Next weekend February 25/26 the Connacht Region Indoor Championships take place at Athlone. The Senior Masters events are on Saturday evening scheduled from 4pm.

Our Masters 4x200m team are among members due to compete there. Entry deadline closed today.
