Saturday’s results from Galway (updated)

The annual Galway Bay 10k Half marathon, and full marathon took place today (October 2).

There were three separate start times. The races took runners on laps including South Park,  the promenade, and around by the golf course.

 

10k winner was Jake O’Regan St John’s AC 29:32, with Sergio Ciobanu Clonliffe Harriers second 29:49 – excellent times by these two athletes.

First woman Edel Gaffney Trim AC 36:46.

Well done to Mayo AC finisher Colette McTigue  63:51.

Half marathon: winner Greg Lundon South Galway AC 1:18.44; first woman Gráinne Ní Uallachain GCH 1:24.07

Ready to go at Galway: John Brennan, John Nyland, Ann McDonnell

Good running by Mayo AC listed: Tadgh Hanrahan 1:23.08 – probably a personal best, he ran 1:24.47 in Longford 2019, John Brennan 1:29.33, John Nyland 1:51.33, Ann McDonnell 1:51.33, Marcella McDonnell 2:01.01, Lorraine Heneghan 2:03.38.

Marathon winner: Andrew O’Neill 2:36.20; first woman Dolores Duffy Watergrasshill AC W50 3:21.47

Caitlin Woods Mayo AC came home in 4:31.19 – well done!
