Results Round-up
There were four races locally today at two locations – Louisburgh to Westport Run for Rescue and Loughglynn Ros go Run. The four races – two half marathons and two 10ks – had 160 entrants in total for an average of 40 per race. All were chip timed. Mayo AC had success in each, with members finishing first in both 10ks and second in both half marathons.
At Loughglynn in a very well organised, measured and permitted event in aid of MS Ireland, John Nolan was second in the Half in 1:27:41. Tom Charles had a great run and finished in 1:35:40, knocking a minute off his National Half time for a new PB. Our other finishers were Chris O’Connell 1:51:41, Justin McDonagh 1:52:07, Caroline Hession 2:05:01, Martin Fitzmaurice 2:05:50 and John Roddy 2:15:47.
Anto Devaney won the 10k in 37:12, with Tom Hunt 7th 43:48.

Claremorris couple TJ McHugh (80:29) and Catherine Conway (86:18) were winners of the men/women’s Run for Rescue Half respectively. Our finishers included 2nd placed Brendan Gill 82:37, Anne Heaney 1:40:25, Frank Cloherty 1:46:57, and Carmel Cloherty 1:58:37.
Paul Reynolds was our other winner there, coming home first in the 10k in 40:48 on his local terrain.

Well done too to Karen Devaney, first woman finisher in Castlebar parkrun – a new parkrun PB for her in 22:48. Clive Lavelle ran 22:08.
And also to Paula Prendergast – first woman home in Marlay Park parkrun in 18:59.
