The third 5k Series race is at Ballinrobe next Tuesday 1st July. Registration at the Soccer pitch from 6:30 to 7:50. There is no parking in the Green this year but parking is available in Abbey St and Supervalu carpark. Also, anyone who has registered for the complete series doesn’t need to register on the night (that caused  confusion in Castlebar), just bring your bib number . Anyone who has only registered for a single race or the 2 races so far needs to present themselves to the registration desk. It’s a fast flat one lap course. Get there early. And enjoy!

There was an excellent turnout again for the second race at Lough Lannagh on a humid evening, though there was a welcome breeze on the bridge and along the lakeside. The middle section over the hill makes this a tougher course than Ballyhaunis. However,  finish times for many were faster in Castlebar.

Well done to Ann McDonnell and her well organised Fit4Life team, including Dave Huane John Timothy and others who gave  great  support to participants around the course and at the finish area. It is heartening to see that almost 50% of those who registered for the series so far completed both races.

Top 3 Men 1 Conor Dolan (GCH) 16:39, 2  Peter Tuohy 17:53, 3 Joe Hastings 17:57
Women (all Mayo AC)1 Pauline Moran 21:10,  2 Margaret Glavey 22:23, 3 Tracy  Durkan 22:25
Well done to all finishers
