Recent races update and more…

GCH have announced a slightly revised prizewinners list for the recent
Streets of Galway 8k, and as they say “On a countback, the Mayo AC
ladies have been awarded second place in the female team prize. A
belated well done girls!” The girls were Colette Tuohy (8th Senior
women), Ann Lennon and Kathy Connolly. In addition, Ann Lennon was 2nd
F40 and Mary Naylor 2nd F50.

Mayo AC participated in three races over the weekend.
In the Claregaway 10k, Timmy Glavey was an excellent 3rd in 34.37
behind winner Matt Bidwell GCH) in 32.56. Owen Mongan 43.07 and Chris
O’Connell 49.47 were first/second in M55 category. Others to finish
well were Brendan Hession 39.02, Dominic Regan 43.43, PJ Hall 4419,
and Christy O’Malley 44.56.

Anto Devaney was the clear winner of Geesala 10k in 37.06.
Tom Hunt finished first M60 (1.41.13) in the revived Lakeland 15 at
Tyrellspass, won by Andrew Ledwith (Fr Murphys) in 1.17.48, Pauline
Curley (Tullamore Harriers) was first woman in 1.31.22.

Swinford AC had a great start to their Harvest Series last week at
Foxford with over 90 taking part. The series continues this Wed
evening (17th) at Meelick – 5k, €5, at 7.30pm.

Members reminded to let Michael McGrath 086 8534729 know by Wed eve if
they are running in National Half Marathon on 3rd Sept. This race is
open to all.
