Race Series launched
As you can see our friends from Vodafone got into the race spirit at the launch the other evening in Castlebar. The 5k series last year was accompanied by some lovely weather and we could certainly do with the same again, please. There’s some slight changes to the courses at Claremorris and Brickens, otherwise it’s the familiar routes. Registration is on the night from 6:30pm and will also be open next week on Thursday 21st May at our Fit4Life groups. As indicated on series poster the races are chip timed and it’s 30 euro for the full series. You can run four races for 30 euro, 3 races for 25, or 10 euro for each individual race. If you register for 3 races or more, you need to keep your bib number for them all. Bib numbers are non-transferrable. Please get there early and help the organisers.
As in previous years these are ‘no frills’ events. Water will be available. After the final race in Brickens there will be an After Party at Flanagan’s Pub, entry is 5 euro.
Reminder of upcoming races: You may have seen this note on Baxter 5k from Trisha Carty
Mayo AC Baxter Streets of Castlebar 5k: will take place at 7o’clock on Saturday evening the 30th of May.
We hope that this can be established as a regular race in the calendar and to do this want to ensure the first is organised successfully.
We urge as many club members to run the race. If you don’t plan to run please provide support as we need a significant number of stewards.
We also need help from club members or club members families on the day by providing food for after the race or help out with the teas. A separate communication will be sent out on this please respond and help if you can.
Also coming up is Guess Your Own Time 4 mile in Ballindine Sat 6th June organised by our member Dave Huane.
And the next Move2Improve race is Irishtown 8k on Sunday June 28th
