Nutrition Talk, 10 April
Health and nutrition are key to succeeding, and reaching goals in any sport. Fueling the body correctly is essential to ensuring it is ready to take a pounding in training, racing, recovery, and life.
The Club have organised for Áine Waldron of Nutri- Misson to come to Claremorris Athletic track between 7-9pm on Thursday the 10th of April to give a talk about nutrition for runners.
This talk is free of charge and open to all club members (membership forms available on the night).
The plan is to break the talk into 2 sessions depending on numbers.
From 7pm – 8 will be for people new to running
From 8pm -9 for the more experienced runner.
We would like everyone to be at the Track for 6.45 as Claremorris AC have given us use of the track for free on the night. We hope everyone will train on the Track on the night.
Áine is a fully Registered Nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition and has worked with athletes and individuals looking to improve their health and performance. She also writes a weekly nutrition column in the Sligo Champion Newspaper
This talk will look at how to use nutrition to help runners achieve their training goals throughout the year.
We all run for different reasons – fitness, health, a chat, to compete – our nutritional intake should reflect our reasons for running and help us achieve our goals./
This presentation looks at how nutrition can help runners improve fitness, lose weight, build endurance and avoid common illness experienced by runners.
This is a great chance for anybody starting out running or preparing for a marathon, to get some professional advice on sports nutrition,
