Nov 1: Sunny day update
Well done to Karen and Seamus Devaney, Lorraine Toner and John Geraghty who completed the New York City Marathon on Sunday November 1 and raised funds for the Western Care Association. It’s probably the toughest of the Big City marathons but certainly one of the most exciting. Finish times were Karen 4:16.00, Seamus 5:25.24, Lorraine 4:43.48, John 4:13.54.
Brendan Hession finished second in leg 2 of the Connacht Novice Cross Country in Longford on Sunday. He’s looking good for a medal with the third and final leg coming up next Sunday at Lough Key Forest Park.
A few members from Ballyhaunis Meet & Train group took part in the 6th Aghamore 5.5k run on Sunday. It was in aid of the Local Community Development fund. After two cancellations they were rewarded with a lovely sunny day – perfect for running. It’s a challenging course with a tough hill in the middle and a good climb up to the finish. There were plenty reviving cuppas and sandwiches at the prizegiving in Moran’s. Judy Davitt won the women’s o45 trophy. Martin Fitzmaurice, Susan Hoban, Mary T Griffin, and Caroline Hession were among the 60 plus finishers.
