No fly zones

Submitted by Tom Hunt

One advantage of the current chilly training conditions is the absence of flies; even the dogs in the street seem to have lost their appetite for a nip around the ankles as you trudge wearily past Nephin Mór’s white duvet through hailstones, dreaming about that hot shower..

Some results from races over the last week-end.
Anto Devanney won the Lough Furnace 10k in 37.36 in tough wind and hail conditions. Jim Gaughan finished an excellent first o60 in the
Donore Harriers Jingle Bells 5k in a fast 18.45. And those intrepid
minstrels Christy 0’Malley and Dave Huane completed the Carnmore 5k in
around 22 minutes. Word on the roundabouts is that they are to perform
a Jedward Tribute at the Christmas Party in the Dalton Inn,
Claremorris on 22nd December…
