National 10k – Sunday April 9: entry now open

Our 2016 squad celebrate their 10k achievement

There’s just over four weeks until the National 10k on April 9 in Dublin and entry is now open. It will be our fourth national championship of 2017 and first on road.
Together with the Half Marathon in August and Marathon in October it’s also the first of the three National road championships in which members have consistently committed to represent the club.
We have traditionally focused on the 10k over the years with substantial and consistent success.
The 10k in particular has given many new members their first opportunity to represent the club in a championship race.
You’ll need to be a registered member for 2017 – yet another reminder. http://www.mayoac.com/club-registration/
Once you enter you’ll can be part of one of our teams (senior, 35+, 50+) and enjoy a unique experience and big race atmosphere in the Phoenix Park. Entry closes a couple of weeks before the race both for individuals (senior and age category) and teams – so early entries will help us organise our strongest squad.
We’ll update events calendar when deadline is known, but you’re advised to get your skates on and enter early.
Members who  want to enter should contact Club Secretary Trisha Carty : trishacarty@gmail.com or 087 418 0590
There are no entries on the day, and that applies to all championship events.
Current timetable for the National 10k says all AAI women start at 11:00, all AAI men at 11:20.
Between now and then there’s plenty of chances to get into race pace with lots of races on the calendar.
And of course there’s club training with Matt which takes place on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 7pm.
Check out our events calendar https://www.mayoac.com/event/national-10k-championships/
for any updates on the race including the entry deadline date when it is announced, but please don’t leave it to the last minute.
