Mayo Fit4life 5km Summer Series gets off to a Flying Start!
The Fit4life 5km summer series being organised by Mayo AC and Swinford AC supported by Mayo Sports Partnership got off to a flying start on Wednesday last in Castlebar when over 120 participants braving the wet weather.

Fit4life members from Castlebar, Ballinrobe, Claremorris, Westport and Ballina took part to make this a very enjoyable and entertaining evening.
First home was Mayo AC’s Robert Malseed followed by Castlebar native Tom O’Dowd with Mayo AC and Fit4life member Andrew Lynkey in 3rd place. The young Daniel Murray was in fourth.
Castlebar woman Colette Touhy was first home in the women’s section with Mayo AC’s Derval Devanney following very close behind and Clubmate Ann Murray finishing in third place.

There is a women’s Fit4life team prize at the end of the series and Westport Fit4life ladies have put down a very strong challenge to the other fit4life groups in the first leg of the series. Claremorris, Castlebar and Ballinrobe are also in strong contention.
In the men’s individual fit4life prizes Andrew Lynskey and Michael Mc Neela have set out their stalls with Robbie Reynolds, Adrian Joyce and Tony Gleeson coming in very strongly too.
This will make for a very interesting event in Killasser, Swinford this Wednesday July 7th at 8pm sharp for the second leg of the series.
Walkers and joggers are all welcome along to take part in the event. The cost is just €5.00 per event.
