Eamonn Joyce had the ‘answer to everything’ and was on song in Mullingar!

St Patrick’s Day:

Congratulations to Eamonn Joyce who ran a fantastic half-marathon pb in Mullingar 1:18.55, 24th overall. He took over four minutes off his previous best half on the same course.

Sean Hynes crosses finish line in Portlaoise in new pb

And Streets of Portlaoise 5k congratulations also to Sean Hynes who ran 16:19 – 30th overall and a new pb improving by over 20 seconds on his time in Carlow last December.

 

 

Rob Holloway at Barcelona Marathon

And today Sunday March 19:
in the Zurich Marató Barcelona Rob Holloway finished in 4:12.52. He’s a new member who has been attending the weekly track sessions at Castlebar recently- well done Rob!
Zeineba Worku (Ethiopia) and Marius Kimutai (Bahrain) set new meeting records at Barcelona. Worku won the women’s race in a time of 2:19:44, while Kimutai claimed victory in the men’s race with a time of 2:05:06. The event is part of the 2023 World Athletics Label Road Race Gold level.
East Galway AC 8k: well done to these Mayo AC finishers at Skehana :
great running by Ray Clarke 32:08 13th overall, Tony O’Malley 32:26 15th,  Paula Donnellan 33:38 – third woman, Dee Corcoran 34:48
New pbs? for Ray and Dee based on their Turlough 8k results last month or was it Headford 8k last summer?
Race winners  at East Galway 8k :Sean Mulryan 27:15, Emma Rowe 32:15.
