MAYO AC @ River Moy Half Marathon: results
Today’s 12th edition of the River Moy Half Marathon race took place in warm overcast conditions with a 10am start time.
It’s been a popular event for Mayo AC competitors over recent years – 32 in 2019, 18 last year.
The course is described by organisers as “relatively flat with a few challenging hills along the way”.
The race winner today was Andrew Nevin Mullingar Harriers AC in 1:12.54 (net). Alan O’Shea Bantry AC was second in 1:16.19. He holds the course record –1:08.39 in 2018.
Michelle Needham Westport AC was first woman across the line in 1:29.55
There were some brilliant times by our 11 finishers.
They were led home by Eamonn Joyce another great run to in 5th place – 1:18.19 and a new PB beating his Mullingar time 1:18.55 last March. Eamonn was 8th last year in 1:23.07.
He was followed by Gerry Kirrane 9th 1:22.06 whose best this year was 1:24.11 in Roscommon, and Tadgh Hanrahan another great run in 12th 1:22.48 – he ran his best half in Charleville 1:20.16 in 2022.
