The annual National Masters Outdoors Track & Field Championships took place today at Tullamore. We had five members competing in a range of distances on the track and in some field events. As you can see from their results they added ten to our excellent medal haul from national competition this year in indoor T&F, cross-country, and on the road.Mags Glavey W65, and Pauline Moran new into W60 were in great form and came home with three golds each in 800, 1500, and 3,000 metres – a brilliant achievement. Ann Murray ran in a very competitive W50 category, winning silver in 1500 and finishing 4th in 400 and 3,000 metres. Mary Roache won silver in the W45 shot put but a hamstring injury prevented her from competing in the sprints and long jump. Martin Peyton M65 competed in a few events and won two bronze – javelin and long jump.
