Mayo AC @ Charleville Half-marathon

Two Mayo AC runners went to Cork today to compete in the annual Charleville International Half-marathon.

Tadgh Hanrahan M40 finished in 1:21.59, a great run and just outside his 2022 pb 1:20.16 in the same race in 2022.

Karol Watson M40 also had a good run coming home in 1:31.02. He ran 1:29.37 in the National Half-marathon last month in Tullamore.

Karol joined the club last January and is from Midleton, a bit further down the road from Charleville.

Well done to both of our Charleville finishers today.

Charleville race winner was Michael Harty in 1:07.03.

Barbara Cleary Donore Harriers ran another brilliant race to be first woman home in 1:19.19. She’s been a prolific racer and winner on the road over a range of distances from 5k to marathon. She’s in the F50 category and in today’s race was just two minutes outside her 2012 National half marathon pb when she ran 1:17.16 in Athenry. Barbara ran 1:20.38 in Tullamore and was 2nd in the Swinford 3/4 marathon last weekend in 2:06.09.
