Mayo AC celebrate success at End of Year Party

Celebrating national medal success: l-r Mags Glavey, Pauline Moran, Colette Tuohy, Norah Newcombe Pieterse

Thanks to everyone who turned up for our end of year get-together at the Dalton Inn Claremorris on Saturday evening. We celebrated the achievements of many members during the year.

All through 2019 members continued to compete successfully at a multitude of events locally, nationally and internationally. They were prizewinners on the podium and often achieved age category recognition.
On the championship scene there was success for a number of members in national events and in International championships held in Britain, World Masters in Poland and European Masters in Italy. Additionally, we celebrated Sinead Diver’s success in London and New York marathons which put Mayo on the world athletics map and is an inspiration to us all as she prepares to compete in the Tokyo Olympics in August 2020.
A big Thank You to club secretary Maria Kneafsey for organising the end of year party and presenting medals to members. As usual she was well supported by our treasurer John Timothy.
