Mayo AC at Wales Half Marathon

Norman Edwards and friends celebrating Wales  half-marathon success in Tenby

Great news from one of our new members Norman Edwards who joined the club last March. He’s based in Pembroke, South Wales.

Here’s his story of his first outing in our club vest:

“My first race as a MAYO AC competitor in Tenby PEMBROKESHIRE Wales at the WALES HALF MARATHON

Very demanding but beautiful course along South Pembrokeshire’s coastline.

I placed 2nd in my category V65, in a time of 1.54

For the course profile think Achill half with 3 more climbs like that one out of Keel!

I felt at home in the vest with many Irish tourists shouting “ Go Mayo!” and “Let’s beat the Dubs this afternoon!”

The link between me and Mayo?…my mother Julia Ann Molloy was from Achill Sound”

Brilliant Norman – thank you and well done in Wales Half-marathon Championships M65 category.

You’re very welcome to the club.

We’re looking forward to hearing more of your achievements from Pembroke Wales and beyond (if not from Croker!)
