Mary and Timmy are league leaders after 3 races

As runners prepare to head to the Balla 10k this coming Saturday evening[23rd ] for what will be race No.4 in the 2011 Mayo AC  -C+C Cellular League, details of the top 25 league positions after 3 races held have just been published.

Timmy Glavey [Mayo AC ] leads the Mens league after 3 quality  runs with 64 points closely followed by club mate Robert Malseed [62pts] having also run 3 races, while  well positioned in joint 3rd  on 49pts  having run 2 races each are Roger Barrett [Ballina AC.] and Matt Bidwell Galway City Harriers.

Mary Gleeson leads the Womens league with 74 point followed by Colette Tuohy on 69pts while Angela OConnor  in 3rd position on 64 pts . All 3 Mayo AC women have ran all league races to date.

*** Remember this year a competitors best score from a maximum  of six of the eight race series will be used to calculate their final score so there is still lots of running to be done before the Ballyhaunis 8k on Saturday September 24th, the Finale of the 2011 league……
