Looking ahead: 23rd Balla 10k, Masters T&F, Nat Half Marathon

Sunshine and shadows at Balla 2008, as the one and only David Huane heads for a 30th place finish in 39:01
Looking ahead to the end of the month you’ll see that there are three key events taking place within the space of eight days. The first is the 23rd Annual Balla 10k on Saturday 25th July at 7pm. It is also the fourth race in our 2015 Vodafone Move2Improve Series.
Balla is Balla – unique on the 10k calendar, tough, tried and tested. It has to be done. Scenery seems to be a big factor in race promotion these days. At Balla tradition is a key element, but the sight of the main street finish line is breath-taking, as many exhausted and exhilarated finishers over the years will testify.
Less than 18 hours after Balla, the National Masters Track & Field Championships gets under way at 11:30am July 26th at Tullamore. If you intend competing let Trisha Carty (087 418 0590) know by July 15th, stating your events. You’ll need to be a club member and wear club vest.
The National Half Marathon Championships takes place in Dublin a week later on Sunday 2nd August starting at 8:30am. We will have a strong squad competing – senior, o35 and o50 teams and individuals in their age categories.
Details of all three events are on our calendar.
