Mayo Athletic Board 10k top three women and Senior team winners: Angela McVann 3rd, Colette Tuohy 1st, Ann Murray 2nd – all Mayo AC
Our Vodafone C&C Cellular Club League Tables for women and men have been updated following the Mayo Athletic Board 10k. Eight women were credited with points based on their placings and two of them also achieved 20 PB bonus points – well done Maria Kneafsey and Trisha Carty. It was Trisha’s second successive PB in the League and she moves up the table to fourth place behind leader Angela McVann, Ann Marie Clarke and Maria Kneafsey in third.
Breege Staunton returned to the road recently and completed a few 5ks. She ran her first 10k in a few years at Killasser and was delighted with her 49:27 finish which merited 24 points.
Brendan Murphy was one of ten men who achieved points at Killasser and he extended his massive lead at the top of the table, followed by Sean Murphy, Keith Holland and Brendan Hession. Well done to Sean Brophy, Padraic McVann, James Murtagh and Finian Joyce who ran PBs and gained 20 bonus points.
The next event in the League takes place on Sunday next August 28 is the De Care Dental Sport a Smile 8k over a newly measured course starting at Claremorris track – details on events calendar.
