Hollymount Road Races – Sunday November 19

The 52nd Annual Hollymount Road Races take place on Sunday next November 19 at the South Mayo village. Race Organiser Sean Reilly is expecting a large turnout once again from near and far. Sean has been the brains behind this annual event since it began in 1966 – a remarkable achievement.

Over its long history the race has attracted a wide range of competitors from International level to locals who wish to take part for the fun and enjoyment of it all.

A busload of runners will be making the annual trip from the Liverpool area – a tradition that dates back to the 1970s. All visiting runners are put up free in the homes of local families for the weekend.

Two years ago the event celebrated its 50th anniversary with great fanfare and is recognised as one of the longest established annual road races on the Irish athletics calendar.

This year the races will be the final event in the 2017 Mayo AC Vodafone C&C Cellular Club League.

As usual there are a full range of prizes to be won.

You can enter in advance at www.runireland.com
