Great Lakes Series: Claremorris 10k

We check Athletics Ireland events calendar to verify races with permits displayed on their calendar. In turn, in line with our club policy, we display races and championship events which have AAI permits.
We acknowledge there may have been some confusion and misunderstanding recently concerning permits for the Great Lakes Series.  In particular, we are happy to confirm that the recent Claremorris 10k had a permit with Athletics Ireland via Claremorris AC, but which AAI had not displayed on their calendar.  We were not aware of this until after the event.
The Claremorris 10k race results, photos etc were included in weekend results. We recognise that the organisers put a lot of hard work into the event. Many Mayo AC, Fit4Life, and others took part, a good few won prizes, and lots of participants achieved PBs. Good news all round. More than 160 finishers enjoyed excellent weather conditions, plus refreshments afterwards at prize presentation, and are looking forward to participating in the race in 2016.
