Good Luck to our Half Marathon teams
Best of luck to our members competing in the National Half Marathon Championships on Bank Holday Monday in Dublin. It’s great to see a record 51 members representing the whole spectrum of the club. This is our biggest squad ever at a National event. We have teams in all the main categories and within them a wonderful blend of first timers, experience, enthusiasm, with an infusion of camaraderie. A big thank you to Ann McDonnell (who has been in touch with all 51) for her excellent work on entries and ‘ancillary arrangements’. All runners are reminded to refer to Ann’s messages regarding the race. Enjoy!
Start Time: 8:30 am Start: North Wall Quay & Castleforbes Road
Finish: Chesterfield Avenue, Phoenix Park
The new course for 2014 is fairly flat along the Liffey for the first six miles and offers an opportunity to get into a smooth and efficient pace. At 6m as the race enters Chapelizod Gate, the undulations of the Park will make demands on patience, resilience, energy and courage.
