Good Luck in the National Marathon
Good luck to all our runners in the 37th Dublin City Marathon on Sunday which incorporates the National Marathon Championships. There’s a record 19,500 entry for the race this year and with 5,700 from coming from abroad there will be a truly international flavour to add to the fantastic atmosphere. We have a record fifty runners representing the club including senior women, o35 and o50 men and women. They have all trained hard, put in the long runs and competed in races in preparation for the 26.2 task.
Almost a third are running a marathon for the first time and for a few it’s their first in Dublin. “You have to respect the course and the distance,” says race organiser Jim Aughney – good advice to both first-timers and more experienced marathon runners.
