Good luck to our Dublin Marathon runners

Good luck to all our runners in the 38th Dublin City Marathon on Sunday which incorporates the National Marathon Championships.

According to the organisers, there’s a record  entry for the race this year and with 30% from coming from abroad, and over 3,000 club runners contesting the Irish Marathon Championships there will be a truly international flavour to add to the fantastic atmosphere.

We have a big squad of registered members representing the club including teams of senior men and women, and also o35 and o50. They have all trained hard, put in the long runs and competed in races in preparation for the 26.2 mile  task. Some are running their first marathon.

Safe trip and best of luck to them all.

Any news of pbs or other achievements will be welcome when we post finishing times and updates next week. Please send in your news.

“You have to respect the course and the distance,” says race organiser Jim Aughney – good advice to both first-timers and more experienced marathon runners.
