Congratulations to Sarah Quinn (St Colman’s South Mayo AC) who won gold in the women’s 100 metres hurdles at the National Senior and u23 championships today.

The Ballinrobe athlete clocked 13:67. She won gold in 60m hurdes in the senior indoors at Abbotstown in February 2020 and silver in the senior outdoors in 2019.

Gerard O’Donnell (Carrick AC) had an impressive win in the men’s 110m hurdles. The Leitrim athlete clocked 13:96 to win his fourth national title. Nelvin Appiah (Longford AC) won silver.

Other Connacht Region medal winners were Ruth Monaghan (Sligo AC) silver in women’s 5k walk in 25:42 (yesterday), and young Cian McPhilips (Longford AC) silver in men’s 800m in 1:52.78 behind Harry Purcell (Trim AC) 1:52.49
