Fields of Athenry 10km 2010 is open for entries
Our friends in Athenry have been on to remind you that the Fields of Athenry 10km 2010 is open for entries. Many member from Mayo AC travel to this very enjoyable event every year. Race director Alan Burke has sent in this detail.
The 9th running of the Fields of Athenry 10km, organised by Athenry AC will take place on St. Stephen’s day, December 26th at 11am.
Over the last number of years this has become one of the leading road races in the country, and this year the aim is to raise the bar higher. The race returns to its now traditional route, finishing under the medival arch in Athenry. Online entry is available at runireland.com at the following location.

For that an accurately measured, chip-timed race, a fast course, lots of refreshments afterwards, a top-quality race souvenir, plenty of water and a great opportunity for a PB is on offer.
It is hoped that avoid the severe weather conditions that forced the race to be postponed twice last year, and the now traditional race for many runners throughout the West of Ireland will go ahead without any delays.
