There was a grand buzz of excitement and warm conversation at our End of Season Party and prizegiving in the Dalton Inn Claremorris on Saturday evening. It was an occasion for reminiscing about our experiences during 2015 and celebrating individual and club team success. In addition to our two race series, there was weekly participation, podium places, and innumerable personal bests by members in events near and far. We won a fine haul of medals in National and International championships – indoor, outdoor, road and cross-country – eighteen gold, twenty-seven silver, and eighteen bronze: sixty three in total. Our Fit4Life and Meet & Train groups grew and trained regularly, supplemented this year by weekly track sessions under the guidance of Matt Bidwell. And in tandem with this success our registered membership reached record levels.
The prizegiving included presentations to the three Levels winners of Mayo AC Vodafone 2015 Move2Improve Series and other national and club awards, as well as a load of spot prizes.
A big Thank You to our sponsors Vodafone and especially their representative Jacqui McCormack who attended the presentations. Thanks also to Trisha Carty, Michael McGrath, John Timothy and Ann McDonnell who facilitated the event.
