Declan Owens competing at Galway Indoors

Last Sunday Declan Owens competed in the Galway County Indoors championships. As we reported Patrick Moran was also there winning the masters o50 high jump.

It was a mixed day for Declan, one that started well when he ran his first ever relay leg with NUIG AC. They came 3rd in a close finish. Declan had a bad fall coming out of the blocks in his practice start just before the 60m individual race and badly cut his knee. However, he was relieved to be able to run and happy with 7.92, same time as two weeks ago. He’s looking forward to next weekend competing in the Senior Mayo Indoors Championships in Claremorris (January 28)
