Tom Waldron proudly wearing his 75+ team medal

A  selection of photos from last Saturday’s British & Irish Cross Country International in Nottingham.  Top billing  to Tom Waldron, our athletic ambassador for active ageing and like our other masters  inspiring a generation. Tom was a member of the Irish over 75 team who won silver. They were led by former Olympian Jim McNamara (Donore Harriers) who holds many Irish masters age category records at a range of distances. Among the rest of our runners in Nottingham were three women Colette, Pauline and  Margaret – they   have all come into the sport in the last four or five years . During this time  they have achieved personal best times , and led our age category teams. In 2014,  they won many national medals on indoor and outdoor tracks, displayed  strength, speed  and stamina in cross country and  road championships. They completed the year in style with medal  winning performances in Nottingham.
