Anto Devaney in 2010 action in Intermediate Cross Country Championships at Lough Key Forest Park

The Cross-Country season begins this month with Mayo schools area competition due to start next week.

For senior master athletes there is a weekly schedule of competitions and championships right through into December.

The Mayo County Cross Country championships will be in a league format this year with three legs scheduled in October.

“Cross country helps develop athletes, and the challenging courses provide additional strength, endurance and race-fitness that can’t always be achieved just from training”.
