The indoor season is well underway, and as we’ve reported some members have been checking out their form ahead of the Mayo, Connacht, and National Championships.
Cormac Kearney was back at Athlone AIT again today having competed in the Kilkenny County Championships there last week. He’s in the M40 category and competed in the 60m masters over 35 today in the Galway County indoors in AIT. Despite pulling his hamstring at halfway he still won it overall in 7.88 – a new pb. As he says “post recovery I should be flying”. Well done Cormac. He ran 8.11 in the National Indoors last March so this is a significant improvement.
The upcoming Mayo Indoors (February 2), and Connacht Indoors (February 24) are his next focus. They are among a number of championship events listed on our 2019 calendar. You can refer to these if you intend entering and they will be updated as details and deadlines are confirmed. Enter directly via Club Secretary Maria Kneafsey – you’ll need to be a 2019 registered member to compete.
