The Senior/Masters events took place on Day 2 of the Connacht Indoor Championships today at Athlone AIT Arena.
We had five members competing. Guests from outside the province also competed but were not in medal contention.
In the women’s 400m, Noelle Kilduff finished a brilliant 4th overall and first W35 in 69:77 – winning a gold medal. In the 200m she came 4th M35 in 31:41.
In men’s 60m there were three heats. Declan Owens finished 4th senior in his heat in 7:80. He came 7th overall in senior 200m in 25:09 run over four heats.
Cormac Kearney ran in the third heat finishing in a new pb 7.76 and 1st M35 for gold – a great result.
Sean Hynes also ran in heat 2 of senior 60m finishing 5th in 8:35. He came 4th overall in senior men’s 400m in 56:84 – second in heat 2.
Sean also ran in the senior/masters 1500m – 6th overall and first senior in 4:32.33 to win gold.
There were two heats in the senior/masters 800m. Tony O’Malley came home with silver M35 with an excellent 2:20.24 finish.
