Coney Island Adventure run 10 mile results

The Coney Island Adventure Run is a unique 10 mile (15k) run across a causeway to Coney Island and back.

Starting at Sligo Rugby Club at Strandhill, the course takes runners along the road to Sligo before they ‘race the tide’ crossing over the causeway to Coney Island. Runners turn around at a timing mat on the Island and return to the Rugby club finish line. See map.

Out two adventurers today were Padraic and Angela McVann. Both have been in superb form recently recording pbs in the current Mayo AC 5k Series in three of the four races. Padraic has also run pbs for 10k and half-marathon this year.

In today’s Coney Island 10 mile Padraic finished 9th overall and was a 1st 050 prizewinner in 1:09.19, while Angela came home 3rd W50 in 1:29.32.

Great running, well done both!

Coney winners were Alan Dunne 58:23 and Aoife Kilgallon Sligo AC 59:50.
