Claremorris 5k Run/Walk in support of Kenya Fund
The second annual major 5k Run/ Walk will be held in Claremorris on Sunday September 18th starting at 11 am. It is being organised by local woman Janet Hinchion who spends a lot of time working with the Kitui Development Centre in Kenya, a charitable non- profit organisation.
The purpose of the race is to help to raise funds to build a rescue centre which will support orphans, street and vulnerable children in Kitui, Kenya. At the moment the organisation is working on finalising a suitable site and drawing up plans for the centre as well as implementing a project to eliminate and prevent child labour in Kitui.
Janet Hinchion will be around in September to coordinate the event and she will have the support of Claremorris AC who will be providing their excellent facilities at the track which will act as Race Headquarters while Mayo AC and Fit4Life will be helping to promote and organise the event.
