Carrowholly, Run for Ollie results
Dwayne Flynn (1702) 5th, and Pat Morrison 2nd at Carrowholly 5k, in action at Lough Lannagh last Tuesday
The Carrowholly 5k hosted by the local Community Group took place on Friday evening June 9. There were 89 finishers in the adult race led home by race 3 Summer Series Castlebar 5k winner Seán McLaughlin (Westport AC) in a fast 16:00 (error in results sheet time).
As in Castlebar, Pat Morrison (Mayo AC) finished second in a great time 16:54 and our other finisher was Dwayne Flynn, also with a much improved time – 17:37 -in fifth place.
Carrowholly Results:
In the Friends of Ollie 10k at Miltown on Saturday June 10, the women’s race was won by Kathy Gleeson W40 (Claremorris) in an excellent 38:41 in windy condition. Well done Anne Lennon W50 (Mayo AC) who finished second in 40:43 – good to see her back racing – and also to our other prizewinners: Ronnie Naylor 2nd M50 42:37, Chris Gallagher 1st W50 46:35 and Geraldine Heneghan 2nd W60 62:07. Race winner was Daire Comer (Tuam AC) 36:45
Among other Mayo AC were Patrick Walsh 40:54, Rebecca McHugh 50:44, Martin Fitzmaurice 53:44, Mary Teresa Cooney 54:40, Karen Clancy 54:51, Christy O’Malley 58:17, Catherina Diskin Hunt 59:43, Mary Niland 73:32, Mary T Griffin 78:43.
