Bronze for Patrick Moran at British Indoors Masters
Another Mayo AC athlete continued the club’s successful journey on the International circuit recently. Patrick Moran competed at the British Masters Indoor Pentathlon on February 13th at Lee Valley Sports Centre near London.
Points are awarded for each of the five events, based on the level of achievement. Patrick competed in the o55 age category.
Details of his performance – points in brackets:
60 metres hurdles 12.96 (413), long jump 4.15m (494), shot putt 8.97m (571), high jump
1.41m (644), 1000 metres 3.42.67 (625).
This gave him a total of 2744 and a bronze medal. The winner scored 3342. Patrick has been a regular medal winner over recent years at the National Masters Indoor and Outdoor T&F championships as well as in the Combined Events section. He almost gave up athletics in the last few months due to injuries, so this medal is just reward for persistence and he is an inspiration to us all. Well done, Patrick!
