Awards Time

The Western People Mayo Sports Stars Gala Function takes place on Friday night 15th February in Hotel Ballina.  Our star athlete John Byrne will be receiving his second Sports Star Award. This year it is for ‘Endurance’ – he was also a winner for ‘Athletics’ in 2006.   Good luck John,  it’s well deserved. The following morning at 10 am he will be on the start line in Kildare to defend his Irish 50k ultra title at Donadea Forest Park.

The Mayo AAI County Board Awards Function in association with C&C Cellular takes place on Sunday afternoon 17th February at 2pm in the Castlecourt Hotel Westport.  This year by it is hosted by Westport AC. This popular annual event recognises the achievements of all National medalists in 2012.  A number of our members will be receiving awards as a result of some outstanding successes throughout the year.
