A successful weekend all round
There were some great results and fast times for our runners at various locations over the weekend in warm conditions. David Tiernan built on his 5k success recently with a fine 35:27 pb? for 2nd place in the RunforOllie 10k at Milltown. Mary Gleeson also benefited from her Series 5ks, coming home with a great win there in 39:18. Bernie McHugh ran an excellent even 50:00 for 1st o50.
In the fast course Streets of Sligo 5k Sean Murphy knocked a few more seconds off his pb with a 17:34 finish – testament to lots of track training and Series success in recent months. Trisha Carty will also be delighted with her 22:58 – now on the good side of 23 after three successive Series finishes 30 seconds the other side!
And there was more success for Norah Newcombe – first placed woman in 37-25 in the Pink Rock 10k while on a visit to Waterford on a flat course with a tough hill at the finish.
