5k Series finishes in Claremorris on Tuesday evening 5th July
The 3rd and final leg of a very successful Mayo AC Summer 5k series takes place next Tuesday evening [5th July] in Claremorris starting at 8pm . The first two events in the series, held in conjunction with Mayo Sports Partnership in Castlebar and Ballinrobe have been an outstanding success, attracting over 200 participants to both venues. It is expected that there will be a huge crowd taking part in the Claremorris event, which is followed by a presentation function in the Dalton Inn at 9pm.
The organisers are availing of the excellent facilities of Claremorris AC. on the Balla Road where there is ample parking space . It has been announced that a limited number of entries will be taken on the evening from 7pm onwards the charge is €10 which covers entry to race and presentation function.
The series while being competitive, is mainly targeted at the fun runner and jogger/walker and it is not necessary to be a member of a club or fit4life group to take part. The 5k held over an AAI measured accurate course, starts on the Kiltimagh Road turning right then on to the old Knock Road and back by Claremount finishing with a lap of the Track.
Timetable for the evening:
*7 pm…. A limited number of entries will be taken at Track.
*8 pm …Start of 5k run and walk
*9pm ….Presentation Function in Dalton Inn Claremorris
