2nd Annual Baseline T&F competition at Athlone TUS

The second annual Baseline event took place last evening (Dec 7) at Athlone TUS.

The events open to competitors were:  60m, 150m, 300m, 800m, 1000,  3000m, Long Jump, Shot Putt.

John Walkin was the only one from our sprinters training group at the Baseline event. He was looking to test his progress ahead of 2023 competitions.

In his first race of the season he ran 8:11 in the 60m – looked to get sub 8 but hopes “there’s more in the tank!”

He was put into a masters group for a heat of the 150m and won that in 19:55.

John is looking to improve over next few  weeks with a focus on the Nationals in February.

Overall “a positive experience”.
