Mayo Athletic Club

Welcome to www.mayoac.com the official website of Mayo Athletic Club. Mayo AC was formed in 1987 as a result of the amalgamation of the senior sections of a number of smaller clubs throughout the county. One of the purposes being to provide local athletes the opportunity to challenge for National Honours. Mayo AC, which is affiliated to the Athletic Association of Ireland (AAI) caters for people at Junior, Senirr and Masters level.

Over the years, numerous Connacht and National medals have been won by the members. Also one of the highlights must have been the fact that our womens team represented Ireland at the European Inter Clubs 15k. Road Championships in 2002 and 2003.

Since 1999, each year we have hosted the Mayo AC Summer Road Race League which incorporates a number of top-class events throughout the county, open to the serious runner, the jogger and walker.

Each year the Road League has enabled large amounts of money to be raised for many worthy causes in the area by people who have raised sponsorship by participating in the races.

As we develop this website in the coming months we will be including much more details on the achievements of our members since formation. Also lots on fixtures and results, anything that may be happening in athletics in the Mayo area and lots more.

Mayo AC is now recognised as one of the leading clubs in the country and is always seeking new members, We are very interested in hearing from you.
